Summary: does not last that long
Comment: I bought 2 of these because they were cheaper than the wii remotes. They are NOT worth the money. They worked great for about 3 months and then the plus button stopped working. Then about 2 months after that they will not work at all. When I try to turn one of them on it will not turn on, I put new batteries in it but that was not the problem. I tried to turn the other one on and it turns on and 3 of the four little lights on the bottom turn on and there should only be one. Again I tried to put new batteries but that is not the problem. They are a big waist of money. I have had the name brand for over a year and they work great.
Will never buy these again!!!

Summary: Please don't buy!
Comment: This is the second Nyko Wand that I have purchased and both have had serious problems that make this purchase a bad idea. First Wand would constantly loose sync with Wii system and often times would not turn on at all. Second Wand worked for one day and then never turned on again despite trying several new batteries. When I called Nyko about it, they told me that they would replace it if I sent it in myself. Told me I would have to pay for shipping and include a note about the issue. The time without the remote and the cost of shipping now mean that it has surpassed the cost of a new Nintendo brand Wii remote. Please do yourself a favor and skip this product all together.

Summary: Do not buy unless you own a battery factory
Comment: This remote eats batteries!!! Even when not being used, it sucks down 2 AA batteries in less than 48 hours (I tested it!) We thought it was just a defective remote and had Amazon replace it... the second one did the same thing. I wish I would have read [...] user reviews first. Don't waste your money.

Summary: Not Wii For The Motion
Comment: With all the success that Nintendo has shown with the Wii, there have been many companies that deeply are trying to make their own way into trying to handle things with controls for your gameplay. That sadly isn't really a strong idea from third-party companies. For Nyko, they honestly haven't made the best of intentions with controllers for the Nintendo Wii, and that definitely is proof with the Wii Wand. While it is a less-expensive concept for gamers who want an alternative to Nintendo's Wii-mote, unfortunately the Wii Wand shorts out constantly while your playing your favorite Wii game. Not only that, but it really isn't well worth the price. Stick only with Nintendo's Wii-mote instead.

Summary: Great alternative to the higher priced Wiimote
Comment: We purchased a set of these last week when they were the video game deal of the day. I was skeptical after reading about the sync issues in other reviews, but the deal was so good I gave it a shot. We had some friends over, played for about 8 hours (4+ hours of Mario Party 8 and 3+ hours of Wii Sports Resort). The only thing you need to know is not to try to sync them when you first turn the system on or you will lose the sync as soon as you start a game. Instead, wait until have actually gone into the game and are on the opening screen or menu screen. If you sync at that time, you will have no issues. We did have to resync when we switched from MP8 to WSR, but did the same thing, resynced when we got to the menu screen and again had no issues. And in case you were wondering, as I did, when the controllers time out due to lack of use (ours did while we were eating dinner) they did NOT need to be synced again. Also, we had no issues with the Wii Motion Plus accessories so perhaps this issue has been fixed in the newer models. All in all, you do NOT want this as your first controller, but for players 2-4 it's really no problem to spend the extra 30 seconds to sync the controllers... especially considering they are half the price of the original.
