Editorial Reviews:

Up to four (4) of these same controllers can be plugged directly into the Wii console when enjoying Nintendo GameCube game discs on your Wii. Note: GameCube controllers only work when playing GameCube games on the Wii console. Exceptions to this include Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart, both of which allow you to use your GameCube controllers. It's possible there are or will be other exceptions. Check your games' instruction books to be sure.

Summary: Might pick up more of these even though I don't have too...
Comment: The main problem with the final generation Gamecube Controller that was made for us here in the states (And is in fact still available if for whatever reason you should feel the need to throw your money away on one from Nintendo's Online store)is that well... It's crap...

The sparkling silver coating to the control will start to rub off within mere minutes of use revealing large ugly binge colored balds spots after roughly a weeks time... And the buttons where just flat out NOT MEANT TO BE USED making the entire point of the device nonsensical at best... (Just about anything will brake on it within a months time if used regularly)

That rant having been sorely noted (Sorry) this brings us to this lovely little import... Absolutely NOTHING that I mentioned that is an issue with the final print American model is an issue with the Japanese one... While not as heavy as the earlier print (Purple & Black) American controllers this White one is built every bit as well... (In other words buttons & sticks just don't brake on them without gross excessive force)

The Controller has the same kind of soft yet hard paper like feeling plastic that the Nintendo DS has had coating the inside of those units since the release of the DS Light... Which gives the controller a strange almost silk like texture when held...

And to make the Controller more sensible for the Nintendo Wii (A primarily wireless device) it was given a ten foot long cord so you could still sit a reasonable distance from the unit without the need of any extra extension cords or having the unit sit closer to you...

All in all this one is a no brainier, If you are in the market for a Gamecube Controller given the price of those horrible third party knockoffs and the fact that Nintendo themselves doesn't offer anyone outside of Japan ANYTHING better then this (In fact what they offer is actually worse) well... This import really is your one & only choice... Thankfully once you have it (Unless you are the type who THRASH'S there controls) you should be good to go for a vary long time...

Summary: It's a Gamecube pad....yay!
Comment: Really nothing to add to what V.S. Romero and others have said, but heck, here's another score for it.

It is in fact a Gamecube controller, in white to match the Wii (looks real nice). It is actually a Japanese import, which really doesn't matter at all. All the buttons, Even the logo and Start/Pause button are labeled the same as they were on the U.S. versions. It's kind of fun to see the Japanese packaging (and of course I can't read the manual...which I wouldn't have read anyway, given it amounts to "plug the controller in and play a game")

I'd love to be able to vouch for the cord being longer (and personally I VASTLY prefer wired controllers to wireless), but I live in a different place and have a different gaming setup than I did when I regularly played my Gamecube. It's long enough to reach my bed without issues, and I know my Gamecube controllers I had to use extension cords, but I'm not sure if I'm the same distance from my TV or not.

Oh, and this would work just fine for Gamecube owners too-you don't have to have a Wii.

If you're ever planning on buying Gamecube games, whether for the Wii or Gamecube, I'd recommend stocking up on these while they're still available, since unfortunately the Classic Controller can't work for Gamecube games (the Wii just shuts off any extra stuff that was added on top of the Gamecube hardware when running Gamecube games) :(

Summary: only new controllers. expensive though!
Comment: This controller is a legit nintendo product imported from Japan. It is well constructed, but a little different than the original GC controllers, which are no longer made. The sticks feel different.

Summary: C-stick not working
Comment: Unexpected that the C-stick failed to work properly when I got a brand-new controller. This is disappointing.
