Summary: Best game of this decade
Comment: I've played the top games of every mainstream console this decade. The only one that was able to penetrate through my all time favorites was this one. I could go on and on about how every single technical detail of this game is outstanding - but the main reason I love Final Fantasy X is the atmosphere: The feelings all the different levels and the wonderful music arouse are ineffable.

Summary: Best Video Game of This Genre Ever
Comment: This is my favorite role playing game ever, and I've played most of them from way back in the beginning with Dragon Warriors and the First Final Fantasy, Dragon Heart, and many, many others. I've played this game several times, and in a way it's spoiled me for other games. I haven't really been happy with any game I've purchased since this one, including Final Fantasy XII. If anybody out there loves role playing games and hasn't played this, you have missed the greatest game of all. The graphics are terrific and the game has a plot and a love story and a surprise ending. Everything missing in regular games.

Summary: Eh..
Comment: I got this game back in '01. I never finished it because for some reason, the final boss was impossible to beat (and I was way ahead in levels). I did love the storyline, and the characters were great! Really, had they waited to finish the actual game instead of putting it out early... it would have been perfect. The graphics are... not so great, but the CG cutscenes and the ability to replay them later on is just... awesomeness.

Did I mention Seymour Guado? GAH. Will Final Fantasy ever stop making me fall in love? And will Square Enix ever decide to focus a game on the "bad guy?"

Summary: My Favorite Game
Comment: This is my favorite game! I had to write a review for it.

Positives:

-This game has incredible graphics and unique characters. It is a HUGE step up in graphics/audio from previous final fantasies and better story and characters than the newer final fantasies.

-The aeons that you summon are awesome and very useful in the game. Although be sure to change the options to short animation after you are done seeing the aeon summoning scene enough, this will save you lots of time.

-The soundtrack is awesome and the characters are interesting.

-Lots of side games, hidden areas, extras. Highly re-playable

-Challenging bosses at times that you will have to prepare for before fighting.

Downsides:

-There are a LOT of cut scenes that you can't skip and some people complain that is like watching a movie rather than playing a game. I found that these scenes added to the game and the story a lot.

-There are somewhat challenging/annoying puzzles in each temple, but there are great FAQ's at [...] that can walk you through if you get stuck.

-Some of the characters voices are annoying such as Tidus, Yuna, Rikku etc. but the other characters make up for it and are funny/cool such as Auron, Wakka, Lulu.

-I found the blitzball to be the worst part of the game, it is boring and difficult to win, yet you only HAVE to play one or two times, playing it again is optional.

- The leveling up system is different and some people do not like it, but I found it okay and easy to use.

Verdict:
This game is a treasure with a great soundtrack and memorable story/characters. I ended up learning a few of the songs on guitar and piano. It is a must have for any ps2 owner.
